This workshop will analyze the requirements for generating high-level pulsed interference signals from 300 MHz … 50 GHz with different technologies. | |||
At lower frequencies up to around 4 GHz and medium power levels solid-state amplifiers are used. At higher frequencies and extremely high power levels travelling wave tube amplifiers are used. | |||
Topics to be discussed include the definition of the different parameters specifically defining pulsed RF signals. For the different frequency ranges and different power levels different amplifier technologies are used: | |||
• solid state pulsed power amplifiers for lower frequencies up to around 4 GHz and medium power levels | |||
• solid state CW power amplifiers used for pulsed signals | |||
• travelling wave tube pulsed power amplifiers for frequencies above 1 GHz and extremely high power levels | |||
• Measurement of pulsed RF power | |||
• Measurement of pulsed field strength | |||
